The Distance Opportunities for Interpreter Training Center of FRCC is an Approved RID CMP Sponsor for Continuing Education Activities. This Professional Development program is offered for 1.0 CEU (PENDING) at the Some Content Knowledge Level.

This workshop will focus on:  Development of Technical Signs:  What are the technical signs and how they are used in K-12 content areas; Use of PSE Structures: What is PSE and how is it used as a pendulum between ASL and English; Tutoring:  Discuss tutoring approaches used to gain content comprehension; and enjoy "Can you hear me?" Interesting and funny stories about children's experiences with the hearing amplification devices.

1.0 CEU (PENDING) for RID Certified ACET and/or ½ PTSB Credit.  PLEASE NOTE:  YOU MUST ATTEND THE FULL  TRAINING SESSION TO RECEIVE CREDIT.  CREDIT CAN NOT BE GIVEN FOR PARTIAL ATTENDANCE

WHERE:  Douglas School District Administration Bldg,, 615 Hamilton , Douglas WY

DIRECTIONS:  The best way to our conference from the hotel is to turn left on Riverbend when you exit the hotel and go to the four way stop sign.  Don't turn!   Go straight to Richardson Street .  There will be a building with a picture of horses on it.  Turn left on Richardson street (only one way to turn).  You will go the other side of town.  Go to 6th street and turn left.  Go to Hamilton .  The building is on 6th and Hamilton .  This way keeps you from having to go through town.

COSTS:

MOTEL:  A block of 15 rooms has been reserved at the Best Western
                Room Rates:  The state government rate of $60.00 per night.
***RESERVATIONS:  Reservations MUST be made No Later Than September 6, 2005
