Presenting: Lisa Kenyon; CT CI ~ Lisa Kenyon is the Assistant Coordinator of the Disability Resource Center (DRC) at Laramie County Community College in Cheyenne.  The DRC provides services to all LCCC students with documented disabilities, and serves nearly 200 students every semester.  Lisa has been at LCCC since 1994, serving students in the DRC, teaching sign language classes, and providing sign language interpreting services to students who are deaf and hard of hearing.  Lisa is a nationally certified interpreter, and has worked in that profession for 15 years working in educational and freelance settings.  Currently she serves as the President of Wyoming Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf and the Colorado and Wyoming Interpreter Coordinators, and is listed in the 2001-2002 Who's Who of Public Service.  She has a long history in the independent living movement, and is on the Board of Directors for Wyoming Independent Living and Rehabilitation in Casper.  She holds a bachelors degree from the University of Wyoming in Social Sciences with an emphasis in psychology, and is currently pursuing her masters in Adult Education at UW.

Presenting: Sharaine J. Rawlinson, MSW ~ Sharaine J. Rawlinson is the Materials Development Specialist with the Western Region Outreach Center and Consortia (WROCC), National Center of Deafness, California State University Northridge. In this position, she develops training materials and provides training and technical assistance with staff and other colleagues to assist more than 3000 postsecondary institutions in the 16-state and territory region. In 1998, she co-authored and edited the American with Disabilities Act: Responsibilities for Postsecondary Institution Serving Deaf and Hard of Hearing Students. The Second Edition was written and published in 1999. She has been published in other numerous publications. Prior to working with WROCC, Ms. Rawlinson was the Associate Director of the Midwest Center for Postsecondary Outreach at Saint Paul Technical College, Saint Paul, MN. She was also the Executive Director for the Minnesota Foundation for Better Hearing and Speech, Director of Services for Deaf and Hard of Hearing People with the Missouri Department of Mental Health, and has held other positions within the vocational and independent living fields. She is the President of the NTID Alumni Association, Co-Chairperson of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Special Interest Group of the Association of Higher Education and Disability, and a member of the Board of Directors of the Minnesota Chapter of the Association of Higher Education and Disability. In addition, she is a member of the NTID Foundation Board of Directors and the NTID National Advisory Group. At age 14, Ms. Rawlinson contracted spinal meningitis while volunteering in a hospital in Duluth, MN. She was in a coma for 5 days, ran a fever of 105, and was paralyzed from the waist down. The permanent damage from the meningitis was to be total bilateral deafness. Considering the myriad of other consequences that could have resulted from the spinal meningitis, Ms. Rawlinson likes to say she is “just deaf”.
