It is always a treat to assemble twice a year for the purpose of expanding our knowledge, friendships, and waistline! Mark down April 21-23 on your calendars. WYRID and Wyoming's Outreach Services for the Deaf & Hard of Hearing will hold a joint conference/workshop in Casper. All the details have not been finalized yet, so keep your eye out for a flyer in the weeks to come. (Hint: ASL workshop & a vision planning section on the future of our profession). On June 24, 2006, the EIPA is coming to Casper! Be sure you sign up quickly because last year there was a waiting list. Denise Morris is the coordinator for the newly established Educational Interpreter Committee. She will clarify the purpose of this committee with short informational presentation at the April workshop. With all the changes happening in the educational interpreting profession, this is a well-timed committee. We would like to thank Denise for spearheading this endeavor. A BIG thank-you to the DVR Checklist Committee for their diligent effort in making sure the contract interpreters have with DVR is fair and balanced for the next 2-year term. The Checklist Committee consists of Connie Norwood, Connie White, Gail Schenfisch, Toni Bell and John Chambers. The DVR Checklist Coordinator for the next 2-year cycle is Toni Bell.
