Regional IV Conference  Oklahoma City  July 14-17, 2004

Oklahoma RID is the host of RID Region IV Conference July 14-17, 2004. Committee members are hard at work planning to tremendous time of Discovery for interpreters in our 14-state plus Canada area. Our vision is large. Our dreams are to excel in training while helping every participant enjoy their visit to Oklahoma City. The goal is to send interpreters home with a new sense of purpose, a persistent determination, a passion to never stop learning and a pride in the work they do.

Our workshops will cover relevant matters of the day in legal and education procedures, domestic violence, business practices, training to certify Deaf interpreters as well as diversity and team training.

As an affiliate chapter, OKRID would like to include you in the sucess of the great conference. The call for presenters, interpreters, exhibitors and student representatives has gone out in the VIEWS as well as our website www.okrid.org. We hope that members of you state are already contacing designated committee chapirpersons to participate in this time of Discovery.

And as you make plans to be part of this Conference, would you also consider how your chapter might join in the monetary success of Region IV, 2004.
The choices are numberous.
            Sponsor the expenses of a workshop presenter
            Sponsor a break refreshment session
            Pay the hotel/transportation for some of your members to attend
            Contribute items from your state for the ditty bags
            Be creative, the list of how you might help Region IV, 2004 could be endless
I would love to hear from you. Tell us you thoughts and share your ideas but above all, plan to be a part of Discovery, 2004 this coming July.
