Founder,

CI, CT, NAD IV
Amie’s
passion for leadership in the field of interpreting began in 1993.
As President of a student chapter of
Colorado
RID, she began to develop the understanding that positive change is born not of
being constrained by our past, but by dreaming - without limit – of our
desired future. Since that time,
Amie has continued to explore and create her own leadership dream through her
work as co-founder of the Coastal Chapter of the
South Carolina
RID and Past President of the
Colorado
RID.
Amie
has most recently shared her passion for self-discovery through leadership by
coordinating and facilitating “Leadership and Visioning Retreats” for
officers of
Colorado
RID and RID Region IV. She has also
presented on a variety of leadership topics locally and nationally.
Amie is the 2006 recipient of the “Spirit of Region IV Award” for her
leadership training efforts within the Region, and is currently writing her
Master’s Thesis at the
University
of
Denver
on local and state affiliate leadership in RID.
Amie holds a BA degree in
Journalism from
Marquette
University
and an AA degree in Sign Language Interpreting from
Front Range
Community College
. Outside of professional circles and in her free time
Amy can be found on her motorcycle, flying around the hockey rink, perfecting on
her skiing technique or playing with the world’s three most adorable dogs
