- Anna Witter-Merithew, B.P.C., CSC, CI, CT, OIC:C, SC:PA & SC:L,
has 26 years of experience in the field of interpreting as both a
practitioner and educator. She has also served as Summer Institute Skills
Specialist and Distance Mentor for the Educational Interpreter Certification
Program. She is thrilled to be working with the program in this capacity.
- Before moving to Colorado with her husband, Michael,
Anna taught full-time in the Interpreter Training Program at Central
Piedmont Community College in Charlotte, North Carolina. She also served as
the president of Advancement Seminars, Inc., a company which provides
development programs and diagnostic assessment services for interpreter
practitioners and educators of interpreters.
- Formerly, Anna was the Chairperson for the Department
of Interpreter Education at the National Technical Institute for the Deaf (NTID).
She is also a co-founder of the Conference of Interpreter Trainers (CIT), a
professional association of intepreter educators, and recently completed two
terms as the association's Vice President. Between 1983 and 1986, Anna had
the priviege of serving as the Vice President (2 terms) and President of
Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf.
